Easter holidays - yeah! I had my last writing class yesterday and have a week off. The kids have two weeks off and I have a film report due in two weeks! I've resigned myself to the fact that I can't possibly work on it during the day - I'd really like to spend some quality time with them all. Looks like I'll be putting in a few late nights.
I have to admit, I don't feel as focused this semester - nothing seems to be sinking in. I seem to have so many other things to deal with and can't seem to let all the other stuff go. I'm still in a quandry about whether I'm doing the right degree and whether I should be doing something more practical - it always comes back to teaching. I'm also very conscious of the sound of the ticking clock - I can't keep changing my mind, time waits for no woman!
How can it be Easter already - where is 2010 going? Holidays are never easy for us students with children, there is always an essay to write or an exam to study for. Mine are off for two weeks too now and I really need a few days to myself to research and write.
ReplyDeleteIt does always seem to come back to teaching doesn't it? Could you wait to decide when you get nearer the end of your degree? A couple of my friends did a Teacher training course (a one year course here) afterwards. They did a Literature degree first. Now one teaches in a primary school and the other teaches English in a High school. Is there a rush to decide now?
Yes, we also have a year long post-grad diploma in teaching which is probably what I'll end up doing! I think I just want my degree finished now!!! Thanks for all your supportive comments.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like these decisions should be easier at our age, but they aren't. And it feels like that clock is ticking faster and faster. Do you have some general education requirements that can keep you busy until you have to make the final decision?
